At Banksia Park International High School, we are proud to offer SACE Curriculum as part of our students’ learning experience. Our curriculum is delivered in a supportive and respectful environment, with experienced teachers who are dedicated to helping each student pick the subjects required for their pathways and excel at them. We believe that the SACE Curriculum provides our students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to succeed in various future pathways. Our courses are designed to ensure that all learners have access to engaging learning experiences, enabling them to reach their full potential. In addition, we also provide resources and support for those who require extra assistance.
HOW DOES THE SACE WORK?
To achieve your SACE, you’ll have to complete
a variety of subjects and/or courses to meet the
SACE requirements (seen on the right).
You will receive 10 credits for each semester length
subject you complete (this means achieving a C- or
better!). In total, you’ll need to achieve at least 200
credits to successfully complete your SACE.
Typically, students complete 130 credits in Stage 1 (year 11)
and 80 credits in Stage 2 (year 12). Many students achieve
additional credits through studying VET, or community
learning for their extra curricular activities outside of school.
Of the 200 minimum credits, 50 of these are compulsory
subjects. The remaining 150+ credits will be achieved
through studying subjects of your own choosing.
The SACE Curriculum is designed to help students gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a global context. The SACE qualification equips you with 7 competencies and prepares you to take on the challenges of the 21st century. They are:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Critical and creative thinking
- Personal and social capability
- Ethical understanding
- Intercultural understanding
Our teachers are highly trained and experienced in delivering quality teaching, enabling them to provide a dynamic learning environment with up-to-date information and resources.
