Sports Day

March 5 @ 8:15 am - 2:30 pm

Our annual Sports Day is coming up on Wednesday, 5 March, and we look forward to a fantastic day of competition, teamwork, and school spirit!

Attendance & Transport – Sports Day is a compulsory school day, and all students are expected to participate in track and field events and/or novelty activities while dressing up in their house colours.

  • Students who have paid for the bus must be at school by 7.30am and meet under the COLA. They will return to school at approximately 3.15pm.
  • Students not catching the bus must arrive at Bridgestone Athletics Centre by 8.00am for an 8.15am roll check with their Student Life Mentor. Dismissal will be around 2.30pm.

Food & Fundraising

  • A variety of hot food, snacks, water, and soft drinks will be available for purchase from the on-site kiosk (cash and card accepted).
  • House Captains will be running fundraising activities, though no food products will be sold.(cash only).

Sun Safety & Hydration

To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort:

  • Students should apply sunscreen before arriving and are responsible for reapplying it throughout the day. Sunscreen will be available in the clubrooms.
  • A hat is essential, and students must bring a refillable water bottle. They will be able to refill their bottles throughout the day.

Dress Code

  • Students are encouraged to dress up in house colours, with prizes for the best-dressed.
  • Outfits must be school appropriate and provide sun protection (no tank tops, shoulders must be covered).
  • Body paint is not permitted due to staining issues, and aerosol hair spray must be applied at home.

Hot Weather Contingency Plan

If the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) website or app forecasts a temperature of 36°C or higher at 6.00pm the night before Sports Day, the following adjustments will apply:

  • 36°C to 38°C – A modified program will run, with Sports Day concluding at 12.30pm.
  • 39°C or above – Sports Day will be cancelled, and normal lessons will take place at school.

If the forecast is 36°C or above, you will receive an SMS update from the school at 7.00pm on 4 March.

Early Departures

Students are expected to attend the full day. If an early departure is necessary, parents must contact the school on 8264 8122. Students must sign out at the clubroom and be collected via the Frost Road car park.

Thank you for your support in making Sports Day an exciting and enjoyable event for all. We look forward to seeing our students showcase their enthusiasm, house spirit, and athletic skills!

Yours sincerely
