What I enjoyed most at Banksia Park International High School were the music lessons. In Japan we don’t have music ensemble. It was new for me to play music with students in the music class.
I also enjoyed the excursion to the city with other international students.
All experiences with homestay and school will be memorable to me. Everything in Australia was new for me. I love this country and this school.

What I enjoyed most at Banksia Park International High School was the excursion camp with the Outdoor Education class. I had the opportunity to try new experiences and at the same time create better relationship with my friend. However, it was a really good way to explore new places and activities in Australia. I was surprised about the variety of subjects at the school, which allows the students to specialise in the subjects they prefer. And participating in Clubs, which helped to create new friendships.
Teachers were very helpful, really understanding and available to answer all my questions.
What I enjoyed most at Banksia Park International High School was the variety of practical lessons which I have never learned in Japan: Photography, Café Skills, Design, Society & Culture. In my home country, I can learn just academic things.
Teachers were very caring and helpful. Although Japanese names can be difficult to pronounce for most, everyone tried to utter correctly and memorised my name and face.
As we head into Term 2, here’s a Term 1 recap for BPIHS 🌟
We started the term with excitement as we welcomed our brand-new Year 7’s on January 29th. 📚We've strived to embody our school motto, "Be the best version of ourselves," by living out our core values of Perseverance, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility, Knowledgeable and Ambitious Learners and Unity in our daily interactions, our approach to learning, and our participation in various activities.
Our calendar was packed with engaging activities like the our Values in Action Evenings that many of parents and caregivers participated in.
We had the pleasure of hosting a Korean Study Tour from Cheongju Joong Ang Girls High School and the Morioka Chuo HS Study Tour from Japan and we also welcomed our international students from Vietnam, Belgium and Japan.🤝
We had thrilling outdoor adventures with a Year 10 kayaking trip and Year 12 outdoor education camp. 🚣♂️
Transition days were a highlight, where we welcomed students from our local feeder primary schools. 👋
We observed Sorry Day on February 13th, reflecting on the past and promoting reconciliation.🖤❤️💛
School Clubs sign-up day on February 14th allowed students to explore their interests and join various clubs. 🎨🎭
Our Year 7's and 9's participated in NAPLAN again embracing our values of being knowledgeable and ambitious learners.
Our Twilight Open Night on March 14th was a wonderful night, offering current parents and caregivers a chance to meet teachers and explore the school, and prospective families an opportunity to see what BPIHS has to offer their students as they prepare to enter high school.
We celebrated Harmony Day and several Wellbeing Wednesday's, promoting inclusivity and self care. ☮️🧡
Sports played a big role with Year 11 Aquatics 🏊♂️ , Athletics Competitions at Bridgestone Stadium and the SA Athletics Centre where we took out the top prize, Year 7/8 basketball carnival 🏀, 3x3 basketball, Year 11/12 beach volleyball 🏐 , and the much-anticipated Sports Day 🏆, which was rescheduled to April 12th.
Music filled the air at the Senior Music Performance Night, showcasing our talented musicians. 🎶
We wrapped up the term with the Council of International Schools Visit & External School Review, a Year 7 Camp 🏕, the Year 12 Retreat and Year 12 Formal 💃🕺.
