Smooth Transition into our school

Banksia Park International High School is committed to the seamless transition of students into our school, whether that occurs from year 6 to 7 or any time thereafter.

Visits are organised for students in years 5 and 6 from local primary schools, enabling them to tour our facilities, undertake lessons from various learning areas and ask questions about secondary school.

A transition day is held in term 4 for all year 6 to 7 enrolling students, where students familiarise themselves with the school, meet teachers and new classmates, and experience a full day at our school.

On the first day of the school year, an orientation day occurs for all year 7 students. Only year 7s, 8s and year 12s attend school on this day. The program is scheduled to assist students with settling in to secondary school.

In addition, Banksia Park International High School also holds an annual open night for the community to view our school, a family information night for any new enrolling students, and an acquaintance night at the start of the new school year for families of year 7 students.

Students who begin in other year levels and international students participate in school tours, mentor/buddy programs and orientation activities.
